| Minquas EMS is proud to announce the addition of two new Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances to its fleet, continuing the organization's commitment to providing high-quality, reliable emergency medical services to the communities it serves.
The arrival of these new ambulances marks another significant milestone in Minquas EMS's ongoing fleet modernization initiative. Over the past 12 months, the organization has successfully replaced two aging Mobile Intensive Care Units (MICUs) and added an additional front-line MICU to increase operational capacity, system readiness, and response capabilities throughout its service area.
The first of the two new ambulances, MICU 46-A, was officially placed into service on June 18, 2026, and is currently responding to emergency calls throughout the region. The second ambulance is expected to arrive in early July and will immediately begin the state licensing, equipment installation, and operational readiness process before entering front-line service later this summer. Upon completion, Minquas EMS will operate a fleet of seven front-line Mobile Intensive Care Units dedicated to serving the community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
"Investing in our fleet is an investment in the safety and well-being of both our patients and our personnel," said Derek Dry, Executive Director of Minquas EMS. "The replacement of two MICUs and the addition of a third unit over the past year reflects our continued commitment to strengthening emergency medical services and ensuring we are prepared to meet the growing needs of our communities."
Both ambulances purchased this year are fully equipped with advanced life support technology and feature four-wheel-drive (4x4) capabilities. These enhancements provide crews with the tools necessary to deliver critical patient care while improving operational safety and response capabilities during adverse weather conditions, challenging terrain, and other demanding emergency situations.
Minquas EMS serves as the primary Advanced Life Support provider for more than 55,000 residents throughout West Bradford Township, East Brandywine Township, East Caln Township, Caln Township, and Downingtown Borough. In addition, the organization provides emergency medical services to the Coatesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center and supports neighboring communities through mutual aid partnerships.
As emergency call volumes continue to rise across the region, maintaining a modern and dependable fleet remains a critical component of ensuring timely emergency response and high-quality patient care. In 2025 alone, Minquas EMS responded to more than 6,200 emergency incidents and transported nearly 3,800 patients, underscoring the growing demand for emergency medical services throughout the region.
"These ambulances represent more than just vehicles—they represent our promise to the communities we serve that we will continue investing in the resources necessary to provide exceptional emergency medical care whenever and wherever it is needed," Dry added.
Minquas EMS extends its appreciation to its municipal partners, community supporters, and dedicated staff whose continued support makes these investments possible. Through strategic planning and continued investment in personnel, equipment, and infrastructure, Minquas EMS remains committed to delivering exceptional emergency medical care today and for years to come. |
