December 6, 2024 | |
Downingtown Fire Department and Downingtown Borough representatives are currently at Pierce Manufacturing in the cold Appleton, Wisconsin. The goal for this trip is to provide the final inspection of the borough’s (2) identical engines. The first engine will be housed at the Alert Fire Company No.1, replacing the current 1998 Spartan/R.D. Murray Pumper, Engine 45. The second Engine will be housed at the Minquas Fire Company No.2, replacing the current 1994 Spartan/Saulsbury, Engine 46-1. Orders were placed in May of 2022 and should arrive in the Borough before the end of the year. Once they arrive all current fire apparatus operators will complete a training program that includes drive time and pump time. After training is complete and all equipment is mounted both engines will be placed in service. |
