This afternoon the Downingtown Fire Department was dispatched to Norwood House Apartments for an automatic fire alarm. While en route dispatch upgraded the assignment to a building fire bringing surrounding mutual aid companies.

Engine 46-1 arrived first due securing a water supply and stretching an attack line to a second floor apartment with a well involved kitchen fire. Crews extinguished the fire, immediately conducted a primary search of the residence and performed overhaul checking for extension.
