Downingtown Fire Department Participates in Home Depot Hurricane Preparation Workshop |

HURRICANE PREP WORKSHOP AT HOME DEPOT Saturday, July 27, 2013 - The Downingtown Fire Dept. was invited to participate in the 2013 Home Depot - FEMA sponsored Hurricane Preparedness Workshop at The Home Depot on E. Lancaster Ave. in East Caln Twp. Visitors to the workshop were able to speak with representatives from FEMA, Servpro, All State Insurance and Home Depot employees on how to prepare your home for a hurricane or other extreme weather event. Also in attendance were the DFD Water Rescue Team with Boats 45-1 and 45-2, plus Engine 46-2 and Ambulance 46-2. In addition to the DFD were the Friendship Dive-Rescue Unit from Phoenixville and the Army National Guard. These units and crews explained to the visitors the role of we play as emergency services in extreme weather events. |
