Just before 4 a.m., The Downingtown Fire Department was dispatched to assist Thorndale Fire Company along with other local fire companies to the 4100 block of Lincoln Highway in Caln Township for a reported building fire. First arriving units reported smoke showing from the restaurant. Minquas' fire engine (Engine 46-2) arrived on scene stretching a hose line to the side door to attack the fire. Crews entered the building and found fire in the basement and attic. All the fire companies worked together to extinguish the fire. Firefighters then focused their attention to salvage/protect property and sentimental mementos. Minquas crews returned from the scene just after 6:30 a.m.
Thank you to Good Fellowship Ambulance and The First West Chester Fire Co. for standing by at Minquas and handling an automatic fire alarm while members were operating at the fire in Caln Twp.
