This past weekend 3 members of the Minquas Fire Company along with members from Thorndale, West Whiteland, and Oxford all converged at the West Chester Fire Training Academy to take a class on firefighter survival. Members were taught techniques on self-survival for many different situations. The class taught different ways to safely bail out of windows such as the ladder slide and the self-rope rescue. Participants were also put through a confidence maze that tested their ability to stay calm, maneuver through small spaces, and debris. This helped everyone that took the class to build more confidence in themselves and their ability to get out of almost any situation.

The participants would like to thank Chester County Department of Emergency Services for putting on the class. We would also like to thank our neighboring companies for coming out and making both days the best experience that it could have been.
