On Friday, February 9, 2024 at 9:34am the Downingtown Fire Department and surrounding mutual aid were dispatched to a reported structure fire in Downingtown Borough. The Fire Division of the Minquas Fire Company No.2 were dispatched to a total of 552 incidents. This was a 9.3% increase in calls compared to 2022 (505 total incidents). Incident dispatches include: fire alarms, vehicle accidents, residential or commercial fires, wires, vehicle fires, CO alarms, EMS assists, hazardous materials, mutual aid calls, fuel spills, gas leaks, and odor investigations.
At 1:40pm Downingtown Fire Department and mutual aid were dispatched for a residential fire on Terry Court in Downingtown Borough. Engine 46-2 arrived and deployed a handline to the front door. Tower 45 set up ladders around the exterior of the residence. Additional Downingtown units and mutual aid used fans for ventilation.
